Kraftwerk

On a late 70's-80's electro binge, can ya tell? Please check out these videos/tracks, they're sooo worth your viewing time!

There's something super inspiring about Kraftwerk's sense of style in their attire and their videos, maybe I'll don some cheesy androgyny tomorrow for class.

Leonard Cohen - So Long, Marianne

Come over to the window, my little darling,
I'd like to try to read your palm.
I used to think I was some kind of Gypsy boy
Before I let you take me home.

Now so long, Marianne, it's time that we began
To laugh and cry and cry and laugh about it all again.

Well you know that I love to live with you,
But you make me forget so very much.
I forget to pray for the angels
And then the angels forget to pray for us.

Now so long, Marianne...

We met when we were almost young
Deep in the green lilac park.
You held on to me like I was a crucifix,
As we went kneeling through the dark.

Oh so long, Marianne...

Your letters they all say that you're beside me now.
Then why do I feel alone?
I'm standing on a ledge and your fine spider web
Is fastening my ankle to a stone.

Now so long, Marianne...

For now I need your hidden love.
I'm cold as a new razor blade.
You left when I told you I was curious,
I never said that I was brave.

Oh so long, Marianne...

Oh, you are really such a pretty one.
I see you've gone and changed your name again.
And just when I climbed this whole mountainside,
To wash my eyelids in the rain!

Oh so long, Marianne...

Wish List Item #7: ATP 2009 Tickets, bitch!

Um, someone needs to buy me tickets ($$$$$235) to this 3-day festival taking place in upstate NY. All Tomorrow's Parties is an organization based out of London whom promotes art and music events across the globe. Lucky for us, the Flaming Lips will be curating NY's this coming year on Sep 11-13th, 2009. ATP thrives on world-renowned experimental artists and musicians/bands who curate the entire lineup each year, resulting in fabulous and innovative times for all. And again, Criterion (love!!) will be hosting the cinema, I wonder what'll be playing. David Cross will be curating the comedy stage!

This is very, very similar to Portland's Time Based Art Festival. It will all be taking place in one space, this time at Kutsher's Country Resort; it starts midday with live art and musical performances, there will be DJs spinning into the night, flicks to watch, and of course food and draaaank. In other words, heaven. Take me, take me, take me.

Honestly, though, if anyone in the Portland area is interested in flying with me to NY to attend the festival then email me. Tickets are selling like hotcakes.

Instructions

Now. Put wishlist items #2-4 on, dance to this groovy remix and you'll look like money! I promise!

(Now 'tis the season when we're not afraid to express our utter desires to indulge in the finer things in life. And because of that I'll also be adding songs to my wishlist posts that I've allowed myself to become infatuated with this season-- most likely cheesy top 40, duh).
